Life in a Nutshell

In this video James Zwerg explains his opinions and feelings he had during his college ages, while being involved in the Freedom Riders. While he was was in college, he experienced others being segregated and wanted to understand what being under minority felt like. Without knowing exactly how extremely horrible segregatation was in the South at that time, he applied to be involved in the Fisk exchange program. He was accepted, and then transferred to Nashville, TN, without his parents agreement. Zwerg and his family were very religious, all taking a huge role in his community church. He states how he became a Freedom Rider, and his struggles among his journey.
