Early Years

James Zwerg was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on November 28, 1939.  He was very involved in school and took part in the student post in high school, while living with his mother, father and Charles, his older brother.  Zwerg and his parents were very close and brought him to a Christian church, where he also was very active.  He regularly attended services on Sunday mornings.

Through the church, his parents taught him many beliefs and morals, which he lived by for the rest of his life.  One of those many morals regarded civil equality.  He was taught that all men are created equal, no matter what color they are.
